Rochelle is a primarily a workspace that also incorporates a few unique areas which are available for private hire. We have permanent tenants who are resident 365 days a year, therefore some restrictions apply for events, especially during weekdays.

We advise anyone interested in hosting their event at Rochelle to make a visit and talk through their requirements with the Rochelle Management team first, before pencilling dates or obtaining quotes for catering.

Below you’ll find some questions we get asked frequently about venue hire at Rochelle. If your question isn’t listed please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.


CAN I HIRE ROCHELLE FOR A DAYTIME EVENT?

Yes. We have several spaces available for hire: including a private meeting room, Old Gymnasium, and a beautiful manicured lawn.

Please be aware the lawn and Old Gymnasium are thoroughfares for Rochelle tenants and sole access on a weekday is not possible.

The Old Gymnasium is best suited for small events, exhibitions and cultural happenings, when the presence of our existing tenants cohort is not an issue and vice versa, such as weekends and evenings. We are not able to offer exclusive use of the Old Gymnasium as our permanent tenants have access 365 days a year.


IS ROCHELLE AVAILABLE FOR HIRE AT THE WEEKEND?

Yes. Our hire spaces are available at the weekends.


ARE THERE CONFERENCE FACILITIES AVAILABLE AT ROCHELLE?

We are not specifically set-up for conferences. The meeting room can be used for smaller groups.

Projectors, whiteboard and other facilities can be easily arranged for the meeting room. Arnold & Henderson, our on site caterers, can provide refreshments and first class catering facilities.


CAN I HIRE ROCHELLE FOR AN EVENT LASTING ONLY A COUPLE OF HOURS?

This will depend on the specific scale and nature of your proposed event. Please contact us to discuss further.


CAN WE HOLD A WEDDING CEREMONY AT ROCHELLE?

Rochelle is not licensed for marriages nor civil ceremonies.


CAN WE HOLD A WEDDING RECEPTION AT ROCHELLE?

Yes. Rochelle Canteen is available through the week.
At weekends wedding receptions may also run on the lawn and in the Old Gymnasium until 10pm. Please note that all visitors to Rochelle should leave the grounds by 10pm.

WHAT DO THE VENUE FEES INCLUDE?

Hire of the room/space on your chosen day/evening for the full hire period and the full operational support from the Rochelle Management in the run up to your event. Fees do not include security, production nor catering costs if required.


WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCEDURE?

Provisional dates can be held without commitment; however, provisional date/s may have more than one interested client. The length of time that dates can be provisionally held depends on the popularity of the date. Clients will always be notified and an opportunity to confirm before a provisionally held date is released from them.

Once you have notified us a confirmation of hire, a contract will be sent to you together with our terms and conditions. Upon our receipt of a signed hire agreement, alongside a deposit equal to 25% of the total hire fee, the event is confirmed.

The balance of hire fee is due eight-weeks prior to your event, with any outstanding or additional items invoiced the day after the event has ended.


WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY FOR CONFIRMED EVENTS?

  1. If you cancel the booking within 14 days of the event date the cancellation fee is 50% of the total hire fee.

  2. If you cancel the booking within 7 days of the of the event date the cancellation fee is 75% of the total hire fee.

  3. If you cancel the booking within 1 day of the event date you are liable for the full hire fee.

If you cancel the booking you will be liable for any costs and/or expenses incurred by us from any third party suppliers in relation to your event.

In the event of cancellation, we will endeavour to re-hire the space and a refund, or a proportionate part, of the cancellation fee will be made if we are successful in concluding a replacement booking.

CAN WE BRING IN OUR OWN CATERER?

No. Arnold & Henderson are leading restaurateurs and specialist caterers, able to supply a wide range of options to suit all your requirements. For further information, please visit their website or contact them direct.


CAN YOU OFFER A FOOD AND DRINK PACKAGE ALONG WITH VENUE HIRE?

Yes. Canteen enquiries should be directed to Arnold & Henderson who can facilitate all your needs. Please contact them direct for further information.


CAN WE PROVIDE OUR OWN ALCOHOL?

Please contact Arnold & Henderson to discuss all your food and drink enquiries. No alcohol may be consumed in the grounds after 9.30pm.


CAN WE PROVIDE OUR OWN MUSIC,
DJ OR OTHER ENTERTAINMENT

Please be aware that Rochelle is not a licensed venue, a Temporary Events Notice (alcohol and entertainment license) will be applied for if your event requires it. Events may run up to 10pm.

Rochelle is located in a residential neighbourhood – our neighbours are less than 10 metres away. There should be no amplified music played which exceeds the decibel level set by LBTH environmental department.


CAN WE DELIVER OR SET-UP THE DAY BEFORE AN EVENT?

Deliveries can be made prior to your event by arrangement with Rochelle at no extra cost. We may make a charge for set-up prior to your event.


CAN WE LEAVE ITEMS IN THE VENUE OVERNIGHT?

We are able to store items overnight subject to advance warning and with the prior permission of Rochelle Management. This may be subject to an additional charge.


CAN WE USE OUR OWN ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT IN THE VENUE?

Yes. All electrical items need to be PAT Tested in advance of arrival and all necessary HSE documents supplied.


IS DANCING ALLOWED AT THE VENUE?

Yes, but no later than 10pm. Rochelle is located in a residential neighbourhood – our neighbours are less than 10 metres away. There should be no amplified music played which exceeds the decibel level set by LBTH environmental department.


IS THERE ANY PARKING AT THE VENUE?

No.


IS THERE DISABLED ACCESS AT THE VENUE?

The grounds and ground floor are fully accessible.


DO YOU HAVE AN OUTSIDE SPACE THAT WE CAN USE?

Yes. We have a beautiful manicured lawn available for hire on its own or in conjunction with other hire spaces.


CAN WE HIRE A SPACE FOR A PHOTO-SHOOT OR FILMING

Yes.


HOW LATE CAN EVENTS RUN AND CAN THEY BE EXTENDED?

10pm latest. Unfortunately this time cannot be extended.
